Wednesday Night was a make up Holmen Area Rotary Club Annual Dinner and a changing of the guard event all wrapped up into a wonderful picnic at Halfway Creek Park in Holmen. Club awards are normally handed out at the club's Annual Dinner in February but was missed due to Covid. A very deserving Vicki Lyons received the Rotarian of the Year award. She saved our club during Covid by taking on the technical challenges of meeting online. Even setting up a virtual auction site so the club could still have their Annual Service Auction last year. Thanks Vicki! Three Paul Harris Awards were given out. Judy McHugh donated her points this year to Gerry Knobloch for his hard work with the community garden and Bob Buck for his help with Fundraising. Bob Buck was again awarded this year through his contributions to the Rotary Foundation.
The night was bittersweet as outgoing President Tom Knobloch relinquished the club gavel to incoming President Kathy Reinolt. Tom spoke about the year's accomplishments and how the club was able to thrive, even during the pandemic. Kathy talked about the future and how the club will continue their commitment to the Boys and Girls club and Community Center and also work on other initiatives to help the community and the world. Thank You Tom! And welcome Kathy! It's gonna be a great year.
