STRIVE is a mentor program partnership between the Holmen Area Rotary Club and the Holmen High School.  Counselors at the high school identify students who may be in jeopardy of not graduating due to a variety of circumstances, whether it is personal/family issues, low attendance, poor grades, etc…

Rotarians are partnered with students in their junior year and meet monthly throughout the school year under the guidance of a high school counselor.  The mentor/mentee relationship is encouraged outside of the monthly meetings but is not a requirement.  Attendance is mandatory and perfect attendance results in a monetary award at the end of the program.  There is some opportunity to make up sessions outside of the monthly meetings if a meeting is missed.  There is also a monetary award for most improved grade point average at the end of the program.

STRIVE is a two-year commitment that is designed to help the students achieve a high school diploma by giving them an adult resource outside of their family/school environment.  Students are required to attend at least one Rotary meeting and are encouraged to participate with their mentor in volunteer activities in which the Rotary club is involved.
