Joy for All Companion Animals

As residents of local memory care units move into their new homes, they are often unable to bring a beloved pet with them. This loss can increase feelings of anxiety, loneliness, and confusion as their mental health declines. For some individuals, having access to a substitute companion—such as a robotic pet—can be incredibly soothing and emotionally supportive.

Joy for All Companion Pets are lifelike robotic cats and dogs designed specifically for older adults. They respond to touch and sound, provide comforting interaction, and can offer a sense of companionship without the responsibilities of feeding, walking, or veterinary care.

Our member, Karla Toppen, saw the impact firsthand. She purchased a Joy for All Companion Pet for her Aunt Jane, and it became a great source of comfort and calm for her. Jane interacted with the pet as if it were real, and it helped reduce her anxiety and bring moments of joy into her daily life.

Inspired by experiences like Jane’s, we see Joy for All Companion Animals as a meaningful way to support residents in memory care—helping them feel less alone, more secure, and more connected.
