Wednesday, June 26th evening's Holmen Area Rotary Club Picnic Social marked the end of the Rotary year and a changing of the guard. The annual HARC picnic is where the outgoing President, Kelly Dunn, hands the club gavel over to the new incoming President, Eric Davidson. Speeches are made, as it is a time to reflect on the past and look toward to the future. Kelly kicked it off by talking about the club's past many accomplishments. The ongoing activities like the Holmen Community Garden, Highway Clean-up, the Xmas Giving Tree, RYLA, Student of the Month and School Scholarships. New projects like the Teacher of the Month, Dialysis in India and Aunt Jane's Comfort Animals. Multiple successful fundraising efforts like the Annual Service Auction, Holidays in the Park and Kornfest Bingo where held. Kelly mentioned Justin recently being named as the club's Rotarian of the Year and how his simple bracelets over the years have raised over $30K for Casa Hogar Orphanage and the fight against polio. He expressed appreciation for Justin's efforts as co-President and announced that Justin will continue his duties as co-President for the coming year. Unfortunately we will have to wait to hear what the future holds for the club, as incoming President Eric was unable to attend due to Covid. I am sure it will be very bright indeed. Members also inducted new member Anca Bolohan into the club. Welcome Anca!
