The Rotary year is coming to an end and it is time to transfer the gavel to the new president. At Wednesday's online Holmen Area Rotary Club meeting, outgoing Club President Art Lyons reflected on a very busy, productive and tumultuous year. Highlights include bed building, working the thanksgiving dinner, commitment to Boys and Girls Club/Community Center, Rotary Lights, Holmen Community Garden, the new Holmen police dog, Holmen High School student support through scholarships, student of the month and STRIVE, Bea our foreign exchange student from Brazil and the monthly food/supplies drives along with many other initiatives. The club took on a totally new fundraiser with the successful Battle of the Beards Fundraiser. And then throw in the last 3-4 months dealing with the Covid crisis and how the club came together within a week of not being able to meet and establishing a regular online ZOOM meeting that still draws a crowd.  Art also made it a mission to improve the club's transparency by creating a written policy manual and make all past club documents available on Club Runner. Thank you! Art for your enthusiastic, positive and strong leadership. Incoming President elect Thomas Knobloch (A.K.A. TK) accepted the virtual gavel and spoke about keeping the momentum going and to leverage our club 's strengths with neighboring clubs to enlarge our ability to service the area. Welcome TK!
